Three people were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire apparently caused by arson broke out in a synagogue in the Anderlecht district of Brussels on Tuesday.
According to the Belgian League Against Anti-Semitism, the wife of the synagogue's caretaker and their two children were injured by smoke inhalation. The caretaker was not at the scene at the time.
A spokesman for the Anderlecht firefighters said that unidentified vandals started a fire on the fourth floor of the synagogue early Tuesday. Fires were allegedly set in four different places in the building.
